VMworld 2015 – All you’d want to know!!

The biggest event of the year for the virtualization space VMworld 2015 came to an end on September 4th 2015 and the attendees were left longing for more technical feeds. The event took place at a humungous level with massive networking activities carried out as the attendees approximately tallied 23 thousand IT professionals.
With the theme “ready for any” the event took off on a tangent where it was clear that VMware is moving beyond server virtualization now allowing customers to access data from any device and from anywhere. Many announcements cementing this idea were made at the VMworld 2015.

One of the vital announcements at the show was Photon Platform and vSphere Integrated Containers. Both these offerings from VMware will allow admins to have containers in production on-premises. It essentially “makes containers a first-class citizen within vSphere,” O’Farrell (CTO and Chief Development Officer at VMware) said.
Hybrid Cloud was a major topic of discussion as it will empower customers to service applications faster with greater continuity (DR) and security.

VMware’s vCloud Air has been improved with either updated or new services. A few major releases that were announced at the VMworld 2015 were; NSX 6.2 with over 20 new features to enhance its functionality, VMware EVO SDDC that includes the foundational components of VMware’s hyper-converged infrastructure, Virtual SAN 6.1 with lot of new features and improvements, VMware Horizon 6.2 optimized for the software defined datacenter that includes greater availability and scalability and containers definitely!

VMworld 2015 US brought together thought leaders, subject matter experts, and IT professionals to plunge themselves into latest virtualization and cloud technologies. With these releases and major announcements VMworld sure is deep dove into the concept of “ready for any” and reinforced the fact that it’s products are always going to be cutting edge and pioneers on the technology front.
